Ephemeral Sculpture and Video Installation.

This work builds on the themes of attraction and repulsion in interactive digital artworks. Composed of an interactive video projection opposite a sculpture, the figure in the video mirrors the sculpture within the installation. The interaction between the viewer and the interactive projection is more closely coupled, to clearly communicate the viewer’s influence on the projection.

The installation aims to give the viewer a conflicting experience through presenting imagery of flowers, fruit and vitality alongside imagery of decay and decomposition. Referencing the formal aspects of interactive art in response to traditional strategies of painting, the installation serves as a re-imagining of the Memento Mori in painting.
